In the third decade of November, 2003 (24-27. 2003) Kemerovo Region
Administration, Russian Association of Indigenous Peoples of the North
(RAIPON), Kemerovo Scientific center of the Siberian Department of
Russian
Academy of Science, Kemerovo State University will conduct an
international
scientific conference

Purpose of the conference: to generalize methodical experience of marks
effectiveness of national policy on the regional level, predict
interethnic
conflicts, develop regional net of ethnosocial and ethnoecological
monitoring.

On the conference the following topics will be discussed:

 * General methodological problems of history research & formulation of
   regional policy on the modem stage, its criterions of marks
effectiveness
   determination. Problems of region net monitoring researches
developing.
   Problems of human research policy in the sphere of applied ethnology.

 * Interethnic conflicts. Its research & prognosis methods. Experience
   in neutralization of interethnic tension.

 * National self -management and problems of land owing in national
   regions. Law aspects of regulation.

 * City ethnology. Problems of developing private enterprise of
   national groups. Migration problems and ethnic crimes.

 * Mineral researches traditional use, problems of spreading
   territories of traditional mineral research usage, bio -researches
   conditions on ethnic territories, environmental protection regimes
   definition & bio -variety in the conditions of market development in
   national regions.

 * Medical-biological aspects of modem conditions of small ethnic
   groups of people.

 * Problems of developing public health system.

 * Problems of keeping cultural monuments & languages of ethnos and
   ethnic groups. Ethnic mentality and language

 * Problems of developing educational system in national regions,
   ecological aspects of education.

We invite scientists of different institutes of Russian Academy of
Science,
scientific research Institutes & Universities, specialists of Federal
Ministries & Departments, plenipotentiary representatives of President
of
Russian Federation in federal okrugs, administrative subjects of Russian

Federation, representatives of national societies & associations.

Rules for registration of thesis & reports.

Applications of taking part at the conference are gathered up to 15th of

August (application form is below).

Thesis & materials of the conference will be printed & issued.

Conference is planed to be at the rest - camp "Sosnovii bor":
Cost per one person: 650 rubles ($25)
First class room - 2500 rubles ($85)
Living cost includes: meal - breakfast, lunch, dinner; bath: 180 rubles
per
hour +50 rubles person.

Foreign participants fee is $150. It includes: fulfilling all the
necessary
documents, interpreter, transport and other payments. Conference
participants are asked to send a copy of the passport (civil and
international); information about your place of job (address).

Cultural program (up to your choice)

Cultural program includes visiting archeological, ethnography and
ecology
museum of South Siberia, visiting nature-reserve museum "Tomskaya
pisanitza" (federal level), museum "Krasnaya gorka", city excursion. If
you
want for additional payment you may visit a national region (Mountain
Shoria).
