The "Biblical Tropes: Hebrew Bible, New Testament,
Qur'an as Literary Works" panel presumes that the
Hebrew Bible, New Testament, and Qur'an continue to
configure subjectivity and culture. This panel seeks
polymorphus and comparatist discourses to examine
these works and unearth fresh readings. Literary
theories suggested are Tropic, Rhetorical, New
Historicist, Mythical, Marxist, Race, Cross-Cultural,
Gender, Reader-Response, Post-Colonial, Structuralist,
Post-Structuralist readings.
Pacific Ancient and Modern Language Association, an
affiliate of the Modern Language Association, annual
conference is at Scripps College, Claremont,
California, November 8-10, 2003. Deadline is March
15, 2003.
Submit a one page abstract and a one page c.v. as
attachments via email to sabbathr@yahoo.com. Submit
as an attachment. A reply to your email will serve as
confirmation of receipt. Responses to submissions
will be sent by April 15, 2003.
