[Discussion] CFP: The Politics of Urban Representations

[Gonul Pultar]

_The Politics of Urban Representations_
For a panel at the upcoming Union for Democratic Communications
conference (April 22-25, 2004, St. Louis, Mo), we are seeking papers
that analyze the political and ideological dimensions of media
representations of cities, urban spaces and/or urban populations. We're
especially interested in papers that explore the gender and racial
politics of urban representations or that connect with the conference
theme , "Axis of Empire."

Proposals of between 150 and 250 words should be sent to Steve Macek at
shmacek@noctrl.edu. Submission deadline is December 25, 2003. Please
include full contact information. For more information about the
conference or the UDC, check out the organization website: www.
udc.org.
