DALHOUSIE UNIVERSITY
The Department of History at Dalhousie University invites
applications for a tenure-stream position in the history of the
Ottoman Empire and its successor states, at the rank of
Lecturer/Assistant Professor. The position will commence on 1 July
2003 and is subject to budgetary approval. Research expertise will
be in any field of Ottoman history including former Ottoman
territories, with a secondary interest in Global History. The
candidate will be responsible for several undergraduate classes,
covering among other areas the Middle East, and will participate in
Global History at least in a first year survey. The candidate will
undertake supervision at the M.A. and doctoral levels. The
successful candidate must have a completed Ph.D. or Ph.D in hand, and
preferably have teaching experience and publications.
