Dear All,<div><br></div><div>In its second issue, Monograf aims to discuss the relationship between literature and visuality both in terms of aesthetics and in terms of its social aspects. Through these two perspectives, it will explore the connection between literature and visuality by paying attention to not only visual arts such as painting, theatre and cinema but also communication instruments such as television and the internet.</div>
<div><br></div><div>For this second issue of Monograf, texts based on free and original ideas are invited to be sent to <b><a href="mailto:info@monografjournal.com">info@monografjournal.com</a></b> until <b>1 May, 2014</b>. Question topics include but are not limited to:</div>
<div><br></div><div>-How did literature reflect the avant-garde trends in visual arts in the 20th century?<br><br>-What kinds of arguments can be made about TV/movie adaptations of literary works in the context of popular culture?<br>
<br>-What kinds of arguments can be developed about the utilization of literature as an advertisement tool in media such as newspapers, magazines, billboards and television etc.?<br><br>-How can we interpret the lasting tendency of the literary public to shun comics?<br>
<br>-What are the possible ways of problematizing the relationship of comics, manga and graphic novel to traditional literatures in terms of plot, discourse and narrative techniques?<br><br>-When we pay attention to the transformation of literature between the two periods in Ottoman art history, when miniature art was dominant and when Western art was introduced; how can we interpret the similarities and differences in the transformations of literature and art in terms of textual composition?<br>
<br>-How can we determine the boundaries of the visually obscene in literature considering the relationship between narrator, narrative persons and the reader?<br><br>-In what ways is the relationship of the concepts such as body image, beauty and ugliness to literary and visual perception represented?<br>
<br>-How can we analyze the influence of literary genres on cinema in terms of language and expression techniques?</div><div><br></div><div>-Is it possible to draw a parallel between photographic composition and literary fiction in the context of mimesis?<br>
