<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span lang="EN-GB" style="color:black">We are pleased to provide advanced notice of the international conference <b>Languages in the Globalised World</b>, which will be hosted by the School of Languages at Leeds Metropolitan University.</span><span lang="EN-GB"><u></u><u></u></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span lang="EN-GB" style="color:black"> </span><span lang="EN-GB"><u></u><u></u></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span lang="EN-GB" style="color:black">The aim of the conference is to provide a forum for teachers and researchers who are interested in the exploration and exchange of research findings, experience and perspectives in language teaching, language learning and language skills development. The conference is also expected to be an international platform for the discussion of the usefulness of multilingual literacy and multicultural competence in a globalised world. </span><span lang="EN-GB"><u></u><u></u></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span lang="EN-GB" style="color:black"> </span><span lang="EN-GB"><u></u><u></u></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span lang="EN-GB" style="color:black">It will bring together academics, teacher trainers, materials development experts and students concerned with foreign, second or third language acquisition in a multilingual environment. The conference will consist of plenary sessions run by eminent guest speakers of a professorial rank, one roundtable discussion and paper presentations of 20 minutes or posters, which have been divided into six thematic areas. We welcome abstracts of articles studying any language, spoken in any country in the world, including minority and endangered languages. Plenary speakers include Professor Angela Creese of the University of Birmingham, UK and Professor </span><span lang="EN-GB">Myriam Salama-Carr of the University of Salford, UK.<u></u><u></u></span></p>
