ISBN 978-960-524-307-4.<br><br>This is a memorial volume for Penelope Stathi (1947-2008), a beloved friend and excellent colleague for many scholars in Greece and Turkey. She was born in Istanbul in 1947 and settled in Athens in 1970, where she worked in the Research Center for Medieval and Modern Hellenism of the Academy of Athens. For many years she was an inspiring teacher of Turkish in Athens. Her research focused on the Christian subjects in the Ottoman Empire, their elites and their writings, the cultural interactions between Christians and Muslims, the Turkish-speaking Christians of Anatolia (Karamanlides), and, finally, her native city, Istanbul. The volume includes a biographical note for Penelope and a full list of her publications.<br>
