<DIV><FONT face=Garamond size=4>Dear All, <BR>&nbsp;<BR>Türkisch-Deutches 
Zentrum e.V. Institute for Migration Research starts to publish a trilingual 
peer reviewed quarterly journal on migration: Transitio. <BR>&nbsp;<BR>Research 
on migration have more and more developed in world literature due to both the 
spread of migrations and the increase in migrant populations. Meeting the needs 
of migrants, development of migration policies and increase in their 
applicability, and providing a constant harmony between migrants and natives are 
important social needs in many countries.<BR>&nbsp;<BR>Scientific work on 
migration has not reached to a sufficient level yet. Moreover, there are 
significant inadequacies in the social policies on migrants. Lack of scientific 
knowledge is the very reason behind the fact that these social policies cannot 
bring about solutions which encourage co-existence. <BR>&nbsp;<BR>As migration 
and migrant policies are produced, implemented and evaluated, scientific 
knowledge obtained from the local will increase effectiveness and efficiency, 
save both citizens and states from using bad sources, and increase quality of 
life, social welfare and integration of both citizens and migrants. 
<BR>&nbsp;<BR>There is an urgent need for new and original ideas and works in 
order to fill the gaps in the relationships between migrants and natives, 
scientific knowledge on the subject, and social policies. 
<BR>&nbsp;<BR>Transitio will try to contribute to both the theoretical endeavour 
in the field of migration and practical concerns about the migrant populations 
through its sensitivity to the virtue of the local knowledge and field research. 
<BR>&nbsp;<BR>We will be honored by the contribution of academicians who are 
engaged in migration research as the members of the journal´s advisory board.
