professorship in Middle Eastern History with ability to teach the rise of 
Islamic Civilization and the modern Middle East. The successful candidate should 
be prepared to teach a two-semester World History survey and advanced 
undergraduate courses in Middle Eastern History. The department has a strong 
commitment to undergraduate teaching and to the importance of diversity in
