Lecturership in Islamic Art and Architecture<BR><BR>Salary up to 
?£47,078<BR><BR>The University proposes to appoint a University&nbsp; Lecturer 
in Islamic Art and Architecture with effect from 1 October 2006, filling the 
post vacated by Dr Julian Raby, now Director of the Freer Gallery of Art and 
Arthur M. Sackler Gallery, Washington, D.C. The Lecturership will be attached to 
The Khalili Research Centre and to a fellowship at either St Hilda's College or 
Wolfson College.<BR><BR>The successful applicant will be required 'to lecture 
and give instruction in Islamic art and architecture'. Applications are invited 
from candidates with teaching experience and a research interest in any field of 
the material and visual culture of Islamic societies.<BR>Preference may be given 
to a specialist in the art and architecture of the eastern Islamic lands in the 
period 1000 to 1700 C.E. Candidates should hold, or be in the process of 
completing, a doctorate in a related field, and be able to provide evidence of 
published, or soon to be published, research. Candidates should have a proven 
high ability to teach undergraduates and to provide graduate
