Filled).</STRONG><BR><BR>The University of Oxford invites application for a 
lecturer position in Islamic Art and Architecture to begin on October 1, 2006 or 
as soon as possible to fill the post vacated by Dr.&nbsp; Julian Raby, now 
Director of the Freer Gallery of Art and Arthur M. Sackler Gallery, Washington, 
D.C. The position will be affiliated with The Khalili Research Centre and to a 
Fellowship at either St Hilda's College or Wolfson College.<BR><BR>The 
successful applicant will be required 'to lecture and give instruction in 
Islamic art and architecture'. Applications are invited from candidates with 
teaching experience and a research interest in any field of the material and 
visual culture of Islamic societies. Preference may be given to a specialist in 
the art and architecture of the eastern Islamic lands in the period 1000 to 1700 
C.E. Candidates should hold, or be in the process of completing, a doctorate in 
a related field, and be able to provide evidence of published, or soon to be 
published, research. Candidates should have a proven high ability to teach 
undergraduates and to provide graduate supervision.<BR><BR>Further particulars,
